Before anything is designed, the site is studied. Orientation, light, ground conditions, access, climate, constraint. Nothing is assumed.

They establish a datum
One fixed reference line. Every measurement in the project refers back to it. It is the least glamorous decision on the drawing and the one that keeps the building true.

Only then do they design
The design emerges from understanding rather than inspiration, and because it does, it can be built, costed, inhabited and trusted.
The translation
Founders are trained in the opposite reflex.
Move fast, ship, iterate. Excellent instincts for a product. Dangerous ones for a company, because a company is built once and lived in for years.
That philosophy became the KEEL Method: understand, establish the datum, then build in sequence.
